An "aha" moment occurred a minute ago. My daughters are sitting at the desk near me creating something on the computer. My eight-year old said, "I feel disgusting...I feel gross."
The 12-year-old said, "Why?"
Kristen replied, "I haven't had a shower in, like, forever!"
It's only been since Monday afternoon. It's Wednesday morning now. Oh my goodness. Cool. Maybe Christmas vacations are good for your kids' hygiene growth and development.

I think Christmas vacations are good for learning stuff too. Yesterday Em was reading one of Ian's books and she remarked, "I didn't know that...I actually learned something and I wasn't even at school."
She looked very shocked.
