Oh, ABC, I'm so disappointed.

I'm disappointed in ABC television tonight on multiple levels, from local to national to nether regions.

Local: Channel 8 ran a news story headline across the bottom of the screen and spelled "Thieves" this way--t-h-e-i-v-e-s. C'mon, people. I before e, except after c, or when sounding like "a" as in neighbor or wayoops, weigh. Thayves, anyone?

National: ABC news spelled Mormon Morman when talking about some presidential candidate. What were they trying to say? He was "more man" than someone else?

Fantasyland: What about Brian? made me mad, mad, mad. I'm done. Until 2 weeks from tonight when they show a new episode and I give it another chance. And whats-er-name who's dating Brian now is right. Dave is the hottest guy in the room. (I know, I'm probably one of only two people in the world who watch this show. The other one is Todd. But we liked it. Until tonight. RARRRH.)

Some days are medium.

That's my new mantra after watching American "Idle" tonight. (I don't know who said it or where I heard it, but that's what someone called the show today...here's your credit.)

On the show, this poor, hapless soul said, "Some days are good vocal days...Some days are bad vocal days...Today was medium." He is a little delusional, but he was funny. :)

NEW STUFF! SNOW DAY!

Is it just me, or do all my links say NEW STUFF! again? I wonder why it does that. At first, I thought perhaps every single person whose blog I read posted because it's a SNOW DAY!.

But...then it occurred to me that not everyone whose blog I read lives in Texas, where a SNOW DAY! is declared because there is approximately .358 inches of snow on the ground and people don't know how to drive, so you probably don't wanna be out there much.

At any rate, on this, our second (kind of) SNOW DAY! of the year (the first being more an early dismissal day when it never actually snowed in spite of the dire warnings), my children were outside playing in the (short) snow at 7-freakin'-thirty when I was trying to sleep because I didn't have to get up and take any of them to school. They are sick in the head, obviously.

So, if you still haven't posted, don't feel guilty or pressured into posting just because it says NEW STUFF! or because it's a SNOW DAY!, or simply because I'd love to hear what's new in your live via blog.

Girls, Girls, you're both pretty...

This is what a former coworker used to say her Grandma would tell her and her sister when they were squabbling. I thought that was cute at the time when my girls got along so well...
Now, I understand.

Suddenly, my darling daughters have turned into emotional, mood-swingin' beings who bite each other's heads off given half a chance.

And I took them to the mall today. Together. With an extra girl.

What the H-E-double-hockey-sticks was I even thinking?

A few reasons my family is weird.

It has recently come to my attention that my family is strange. Here are a few specific reasons.

As discovered tonight when initiated by one daughter, at least all the girls can balance pencils in their bellybuttons. The boys are not home, so we're unsure if it's family-wide.

When younger, the kids could all suck their nostrils closed without pinching them with their fingers. They used to keep us entertained for hours at the dinner table doing this. Especially fun when out and other diners are also entertained. This talent apparently diminishes with age and toughening of nose cartilages. We are down to one now.

Speaking of dinner, the topic of conversation at our dinner table when company is present always seems to turn to matters of...er...shall we say bathroom humor.

One child eats colored sprinkles on her mashed potatoes. She calls them Bob Fred. (Oops, thanks, Heather!)

One child can play Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star on his facial cheeks. I'm not sure about the other end, but I don't want to know.

One child gets so excited about playing and singing his new songs for me, he doesn't care if I'm temporarily incapacitated. I am thankful for the enclosed water closet (with door) the builder saw fit to put in this house.

That's enough for now.
